Sikkim Backpacking

Reach Bagdogra airport latest by 12.00 pm. After a brief introduction, we will move towards Gangtok (5,500 ft.). The route is scenic, diverse and offers numerous photo-ops. On arrival Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

After a full and healthy breakfast, check out from hotel with limited luggage. Proceed to Lachen and explore the beauty of North Sikkim which will be on your way. Take a break for some beautiful spots, which are worth seeing and visiting even if you don’t have much time in hand, The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) & Lachung Chu (River) and Vimala falls water falls on your way to Lachen. Afterwards check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Lachen.

Drive to Chopta valley and enjoy your view of the frozen river along the way. It is a surreal experience with its ice-covered frozen bodies of water and mountain peaks in the distance. After an hour drive, you will be able to reach Gurudongmar Lake, which is one of the highest and biggest freshwater lake in Sikkim. Return to Hotel for Lunch & drive to Lachung (8,700 ft.). Arrive by evening. Dinner & Overnight stay at Lachung.

After breakfast proceed to Yumthang Valley which is Known as Valley of Flowers (12,000 ft. Known as Valley of Flowers). We will also visit the Zero Point which stands at an altitude of 15,300 ft.  After reaching here, there are no civilian roads beyond and that is why it is called Zero Point. On the way back, visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Lunch at hotel in Lachung. After lunch visit Handicraft Centre & Lachung Monastery. Later drive back to Gangtok, In the evening arrive at Gangtok and check into the hotel.

Start the day by getting ready for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. From Gangtok, it’s a 55 km drive. You’ll also get to see gorgeous views of mountains on the way up! The second leg of your journey will be in the high altitudes at Baba Mandir, which is certainly worth a visit. We then visit Nathula Pass (at own cost). Explore the market in the evening before returning to your hotel

Post-breakfast, our journey today includes a delightful tour of Namchi and Ravangla's most captivating sights. After soaking in the beauty and cultural richness of these locations, we'll make our way to Pelling, where we will spend the night.

Pelling, a charming hill station in West Sikkim, India, sits at an elevation of 2,150 meters (7,200 feet) and is 10 km from Geyzing and 131 km from Gangtok. Our exploration in Pelling encompasses visiting serene local monasteries and engaging with the natural beauty of the area. A highlight of our tour will be the Pelling Sky Walk and the magnificent Chenrezig Statue. This 137 feet statue of Chenrezig (Avalokitesvara) alongside a glass Sky Walk offers an unparalleled experience. Opened in November 2018, this attraction has since drawn numerous visitors for its unique blend of spirituality and panoramic views. Our day concludes with an overnight stay in Pelling, amidst its tranquil surroundings.

Like all the good things this trip must also come to an end. We leave early morning around 4.30am from Pelling. Say your goodbyes, this brings us to the end of an EPIC adventure and beginning of an era of travel stories with Wandering souls. Come back for more and more.
